Yamaha R3 and MT-03: New updates for 2025

Yamaha has updated the R3 internationally, bringing a sharper and more aggressive design to the entry-level supersport. One of the biggest visual changes is the redesigned front end, giving the bike a sleeker look. Yamaha also states that it has reprofiled the seat area, particularly where the tank meets the seat, making it easier for riders to reach the ground When it comes to mechanical changes, the 321cc twin-cylinder engine remains untouched, maintaining its reliable and high-revving performance. However, Yamaha has finally introduced:

Slip and assist clutch
Optional up-only quick shifter

Since the bike still uses a cable throttle, an auto-blipper is not available. Another major update comes in the form of a Bluetooth-enabled negative LCD display.

While this is a step forward, the lack of a color TFT screen puts the R3 behind some of its competitors in terms of modern features.

Yamaha MT-03: Minor Updates, New Color Option

Similar changes have been made to the MT-03, Yamaha’s 300cc naked offering. However, unlike the R3, its design remains almost identical to the current model. The only significant visual update is the introduction of a flashy new “Ice Storm” color option, giving it afreshlook.

On the mechanical side, the MT-03 continues to be powered by the same 321cc parallel-twin engine. Just like the R3, it now comes with: ✅ Slip and assist clutch
Optional up-only quick shifter
Bluetooth-compatible negative LCD display

Despite these small refinements, both the R3 and MT-03 are expected to see a slight price increase upon launch.

Yamaha’s Bigger Bikes in 2025?

Apart from these small-capacity models, Yamaha has been working on bringing its larger bikes to more markets. Kawasaki’s Big Updates for 2025

Kawasaki is set to launch updates for two of its most significant big bikes in 2025.

Versys 1100: A Bigger, More Powerful Adventure Tourer

First up is the Versys 1100, the taller sibling to the Ninja 1100 SX, which was introduced just a few weeks ago. Both 1100s are now much closer under their familiar skin than ever before. The biggest change on the Versys 1100 is the new liquid-cooled 1,099cc inline-four engine,

producing 136 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque—matching the output of the Ninja 1100 SX. Visually, the Versys 1100 remains nearly indistinguishable from the earlier Versys 1000, with its electronic suite also carried over.

The Ninja 1100 SX saw a price increase of $1,560 USD upon launch, so a similar price adjustment can be expected for the Versys 1100 when it officially debuts later this year.

Z900: More Than Just a Facelift

Unlike the Versys 1100, the Z900 undergoes far more substantial changes. It features an aggressive new design along with a host of modern electronic upgrades.

The biggest improvement comes from the long-awaited addition of ride-by-wire technology, along with an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU).

These enhancements now allow the Z900 to feature:
Multiple riding modes
A bidirectional quick shifter
Cruise control

To comply with the latest emission regulations, the engine has been updated. While the changes have slightly reduced performance, the bike still produces 123 horsepower and 97.4 Nm of torque. Additionally, the Z900 has gained an extra kilogram, now weighing 213 kg.

For those seeking a more premium experience, Kawasaki is also introducing a higher-spec Z900 SE variant, featuring better suspension and braking components, which will be launched alongside the base model.

The current Z900 is priced at $11,300 USD, and with these updates, a slight price increase can be expected.

BMW 450 GS

next up is another small capacity by carrying a hallowed European badge this one has been a long time coming but the BMW TVs partnership has finally yielded a twin cylinder and engine the concept F450 GS shown late last year is powered by this new parallel Twin Mill and while it was a concept it appeared to be production ready the exact displacement of the motor isn’t known yet but it should be in the 450cc ballpark considering the name it is rated for 48 horsepower and BMW claims that the concept weighs close to 175 kilos when it comes to the engine’s firing order things get a little interesting BMW claims this engine will have a unique firing order and won’t have the now commonplace 270° firing order the concept 450 gs’s headlight is very similar to the 1300 GS and it also uses the 6.5 in TFT Dash cross spoke wheels and fully adjustable suspension it remains to be seen how much of this equipment is carried forward to the production spec bike that’s slated to break cover in 2025 soon.

New bikes in 2025 Suzuki GSX-R1000R and GSX-R1000

Suzuki adds new bikes GSX-R1000R and GSX-R1000 with new colors in 2025 and plans to keep the top rung of its sportbike lineup unaltered in 2025. The GSX-R1000R and GSX-R1000 will remain unmodified from the previous year. As of the time this article was written, these machines have been stable for seven years; the most recent significant repair was performed in 2017. Eight years had passed between significant revisions before then, so perhaps the 2026 version will see some mechanical love.

On the positive side of things, the riders found that Suzuki still has a powerful combination of motorbikes that are adaptable, simple to operate, quick, and powerful during our most recent ride of the GSX-R1000R.

The 999cc DOHC inline-four engine with Suzuki Racing Variable Valve Timing powered each superbike. Riders interested in the 2025 GSX-R1000R will have a choice between two color schemes: Metallic Matte Sword Silver, which has black wheels and blue graphics, and Candy Daring Red and Glass Black, which includes red wheels and gold-anodized suspension components. The GSX-R1000 will be available in Metallic Matte Sword Silver or Candy Daring Red. Starting prices for the GSX-R1000R and GSX-R1000 are $18,649 and $16,499, respectively.
